Weekly Update: November 7, 2008
Language Arts (Mrs. Widman)
We have been working on leads in writing. We all know that the first sentence
of writing is the reader’s first impression. The students have learned
several strategies for starting their writing.
Social Studies (Mrs. Robke)
Congratulations to the Widke Team for running a great school wide election (If we do say so ourselves!) The students counted the ballots, determined the winner using the electoral votes, and produced a video broadcast to announce the winner to the school.
Math (Mrs. Robke)
Unit 5 begins on Monday. Unit 5 covers Fractions, Decimals, and Percents.
Science (Mrs. Robke)
We have begun our study of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. Please go to our
class webpage and use the link found on our science page to track sunrise and
sunset times.
Spelling (Homeroom Teacher)
Unit 10 next week.
