PARENTAL SUPPORT

SALINE HORNET GOLF TEAM

The Saline Area Schools and the Athletic Department are proud of the strong parental involvement shown in many ways. Listed below are several ways in which parents may help with the boy's golf program.

• Transportation - transport clubs to away matches
• Provide snacks for matches (high energy, fruit, water, Gatorade, cheese, crackers, etc)
• QUALIFICATIONS: need walkers (markers) for all five days of qualifications (August 11-117, 2005)
• Emotional support for your son. Encourage, but do not criticize. Help with time management. Stress the importance of the STUDENT/athlete, with the emphasis on student.
• FUND RAISERS - parent/player scramble. Help to organize. Participate
• ORGANIZER - to help locate a second Hornet van
• BANQUET - help to organize the food, set up the banquet room, deliver, clean-up, decorations
• PREPARE YOUR SON for each practice and competition - adequate sleep, nourishment, and mentally ready. Also remind him to do an equipment check each evening: uniform, clean clubs, balls, shoes, tees, rain gear.

THE COACHING STAFF IS APPRECIATIVE OF ALL PARENTAL SUPPORT. Please check with one of the coaches if you have questions about whether or not your help is needed or appropriate. Parents are welcome at practice with prior clearance from one of the coaches, and encouraged to attend all matches and tournaments.

In general, keep in mind that this is a TEAM sport. Whatever we do for one player, we strive to do for all of them.

2003 - FEES

GREENS FEES $20/day of qualifying or $75/for the week

For players who successfully remain on the team, the following season fees will be assessed:

SHIRT FEE $40

AWARDS/BANQUET FEE $20

GREENS FEES (season) $140

TOTAL (per player) $200
