2-WORLD HISTORY

Welcome to World History. We will be exploring fascinating times starting with the beginning of civilization and on, including Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Vikings just to name a few. We will use a variety of materials including videos, the Internet, books, games, etc.. Grading in this class is based on classwork, test/quizzes, and projects. Since all are weighted equally, it is important that all work is completed to best of ability. Time will also be provided for help with work from other classes. |

| Get ready to read—and enjoy it!! Throughout the semester we will be engaging in a new reading intervention program. This program was designed to be used in small groups and will to be used everyday for 40-45 mins. The goal of the program is to raise each student's reading level. We will also be working with improving voacabulary, test-taking skills, grammar, and working on writing, with a large focus on Collins Writing Strategies. Time will also be provided for help with work from other classes. |
