About
me: My name is Joanna Mierkowicz and this is my fourth year in the
Saline Area School District. My first year here I taught 5th grade and
for the last two years I have taught 6th grade. I grew
up on the west side of Michigan in Holland, where I spent my days working
at Captain
Sundaes, enjoying the beautiful beaches, and attending the world
famous,
Tulip Time
Festival.
Education:
I graduated from Adrian College in May of 2004, with a bachelors degree
in elementary
education, art, and social studies. I student taught in Hudson, Michigan,
in the fall of 2004, in a wonderful 5th grade classroom. This past July I
completed my masters degree from Marygrove College in the Art of Teaching.
While in college I played varsity volleyball for the
Adrian Bulldogs for four years. Now I currently coach
8th
grade volleyball for the Saline Hornets.
Family:
My husband and I live
in Dexter with our kitty named MERK. We enjoy traveling,
going out to eat, and spending time with our families.
