Business Management Technology

Course Description:
Business Management and Information Technology is an elective course designed for entry-level employment and the college bound student. The program focuses on planning, organizing, directing and implementing the functions and processes of contemporary businesses and organizations. This course will enable students to be self-directed learners, effective communicators, quality producers and technology users using microcomputer operations and applications with teacher facilitation to establish skills in the Michigan Career Clusters and the US Department of Education Career Clusters.

Century 21 Keyboarding & Information Processing, Shelly Cashman Vermaat Series of Microsoft Office 2003 Introduction and Advanced, business assignments, handouts, and reference manuals

Articulation:
This course is articulated with Washtenaw Community College. Students
Agreement attending WCC can receive college credit based on teacher recommendation. Students must meet established skills and abilities established by Saline Area Schools and Washtenaw Community College. Not all students will be recommended for articulation. Articulation can be established up to one year after high school graduation.

Grading:
Course 40% First 9 weeks of semester grade
Grade 40 % Second 9 weeks of semester grade
20% Final exam of semester grade
(Final exam is a two part test---written and computerized)

100 A+ 89-87 B+ 79-77 C+ 69-67 D+
99-93 A 86-83 B 76-73 C 66-63 D
92-90 A- 82-80 B- 72-70 C- 62-60 D-

Late Policy
All assignments will be turned in by the due date. Late assignments will be accepted up to two days after the due date for an 11% deduction. Excused absences will follow the high school policy stated in the student handbook.
