Saline Area Schools offers a challenging and comprehensive curriculum to prepare students for their future, as well as supporting life-long learning for all.


Each school offers a common core curriculum based upon the Michigan Curriculum Framework and the new Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE). Each grade level and department has a set of learner outcomes and expectations for student achievement. The high school curriculum supports Career Pathways for all students.


Elementary Program -grades K-4

  • All Elementary buildings: Education Yes! State Report Card grade: A
  • Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) consistently average 89%-98% proficient in Reading and Math
  • 95%+ parent participation at all school events including Parent/Teacher conferences, Curriculum Nights, and Open House.
  • Coordinated curriculum between the Elementary (grades 1-4) buildings including: Everyday Mathematics 3, Lucy Calkins writing, and ECA Science.

  • Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) consistently in 87%-95% proficient range for reading and mathematics

High School Program - grades 9-12

  • Saline High School Education Yes! Report Card grade: B
  • Greater than 90% of all Saline High School graduates continue their education beyond High School
  • Saline High School's graduation rate is 97% with a 96.6% of students who enter 9th grade and complete their High School education in four years.
  • Parent involvement at the High School averages around 48%
  • In 2006-2007: 439 Advanced Placement examinations were given to 317 Saline High School students
  • Saline High School has a wide range of comprehensive programs:
    • Advanced Placement: 12 courses are offered
    • SWWC Consortium for Career & Technical Programs
    • Outstanding athletics programs and facilities
  • Examples of Student Achievement/Awards:
    • Saline High School had one of the ten students across the State of Michigan to score a perfect score on the ACT last Spring
    • First place in the State of Michigan in the 14th Annual Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition and 2nd place in the Nation
    • Third place in the State of Michigan 2007 Skills USA States Automated Manufacturing competition
    • Third place in the State of Michigan Cosmetology competition
    • Saline Student Council received the Award of Excellence and STAR Award at the state conference for exemplary leadership
    • High School Olympiad finished 3rd in the Regional Competition
