Hours:
The library is open to students from 7 am to 4 pm Monday thru Thursday and from 7 am to 3:30 pm Friday.
Library Passes:
Any time a student needs to use the library during school hours, they must have a pass signed by their teacher (Note: a teacher can only send five students to the library at a time). Students on passes need to sign in and sign out at the circulation counter and must time stamp their pass when they arrive and when they leave. Students on passes need to work in the designated area (to the right when entering) and should not disturb other students. The library staff reserves the right to ask students on passes to leave the premises for any reason such as disruptive or inappropriate behavior, overcrowding, etc.
SRT Passes:
Students must plan ahead if they want to use the library during SRT. Passes to come to the library can only be received from the library and the space is limited to forty students. Classroom teachers cannot give SRT passes for the library. SRT passes are given throughout the week - including before school, after school, and during lunch. Students are expected to arrive within the allotted passing time, and must work quietly until the end of SRT. Students will not be able to leave to go to lockers, classroom, bathrooms, etc.
Students may print up to five pages for free, although donations will be accepted at the reference counter (where the printer is located). More than five print copies will cost 5¢ each. Copier prints are self-serve and cost 10¢ each.

Checking Out Materials:
Loan Periods:
Regular borrowing:
Due dates are three weeks from checkout for the general collection. Book
fines are charged at 25¢ for every school day that they are late.
Overnight borrowing:
Reference books, books on reserve, and browsing magazines (designated with green dots) can be checked out overnight. The material must be checked out after school and returned before school the next day. There is a penalty of 25¢ for every period that you are late with an overnight item.
Overdues/fines:
Overdue notices are delivered on Wednesdays to your second period teacher. If
you need the overdue item longer, bring it to the library to renew it for
another three weeks. If you are done with the item, please return
it as soon as possible so that your fine does not continue to grow. If
you feel that you receive notices two weeks in a row for something you
felt was taken care of, please notify the library staff as soon as possible. Sometimes
it is simply a case where a book has been shelved without being checked
in. The best way to solve these situations is to alert the library
staff so that the matter can be looked into.
If you owe the library any materials or fines, you will not be able to receive your semester report card or class schedule until the matter is taken care of.
Lost books:
If you lose an item you will be charged a fee to replace the item.
The charge is $30.00 for regular fiction or nonfiction items, $75.00
for reference materials. If you find the item or someone
else returns it within a year of paying for it, we will refund
you the replacement fee (but not any fines).
Computer Access:
Students need to know their username and password to use the computers in the library. This information is given to each student on their first semester class schedule. If a student has misplaced or has forgotten their password, they can request it at the reference desk.
ABSOLUTELY NO GAMES will be allowed on ANY of the computers during school hours. Any person caught playing games will be lose computer privileges and may be asked to leave the library immediately.
