  This science site introduces students to seven biomes: coniferous forests, temperate deciduous forests, deserts, grasslands, rainforests, shrublands, and tundras. Each contains a picture and information about the temperature, precipitation, vegetation, location, and description. Links to other sites, a glossary of terms, a metric converter, extension ideas, and hands on activities such as designing a plant or animal that could "survive in a specific biome" can be found.

  This ThinkQuest site concentrates on three of the world's major biomes: rain forest, grassland and desert. The site is divided into three parts according to the three biomes. In each part, the climate, location, animals, plants and human activities of the biome are presented. There is a treasure hunt game for encouraging students to take the initiative to learn about the three biomes.
