Death Valley National Park by David Peterson

Death Valley National Park is one of the hottest and driest places on the earth. On July 10, 1913, it got up to a world record 134 degrees. The park covers 2.7 million acres of land. Telescope Peak rises 11,049 feet above sea level. Death Valley also has a lot of animals and plants including 600 species of plants, and 230 different birds, 19 kinds of snakes and more. Some prspectors cane here in search of gold but found borax.

I like this book because it is very, very, very interesting.

Discovering France by Jo Sturges

France has a long rich history. For more than hundreds of years their country produced great artists, thinkers, and scientists. Did you know that France is bordered by seven other countries and three seas? On farms, there are fertile, rolling plains. They produce food and wine for France which has become world famous! Their landscape includes three mountain regions, three highlands regions and three low plains.

One thing that make this a good book is that it tells you a lot about France. The facts that they say are interesting, like about the wildlife and their buildings and even their food.

Egypt by Ann Heinrichs

Did you know the Nile is the longest river in the world and it's located in Egypt? A large city used in 322 B.C. was found in Egypt. Oases only have two seasons, summer and winter. This book told me a lot of facts about Egypt.

This author used a lot of descriptive words like 'blended'.

Grand Canyon National Park by David Peterson

This book says that the Grand Canyon is 1,904 square miles and about one mile deep. Other facts are that it was carved by the Colorado River, and at the park you can visit the Hopi House.

I think it was a good idea to catch the readers mind at the beginning by saying that it is a mile deep!

Mexico by David Peterson

Mexico was freed from Spain on September 16, 1821. Mexico celebrates the Days of the Dead between October 31 and November 2. Mexico celebrates Christmas from December 25 through January 6.

This is a good book because it has good information. I like this book because I like Mexico. I gave this book three stars because it could have more information.

The park had many fossils from animals. One of the biggest animal fossils was a giant crocodile with big, snaggly teeth and was 30 feet long. The park has alot of carvings in the rock from indians. The park became a National Park in l962 and in l906 Roosevelt made it a petrified forest national monument. The park has been known for its rocks, fossils, and indian carvings.

It tells you about the park and the old stuff about it and all the history behind it and you may want to visit there.
