Hi. My name is Gina Geraldi and
I teach general music at Woodland Meadows Elementary School for second
grade through fourth grade. I also teach sixth grade Creative Arts
at
Heritage School. I have been teaching elementary music for eight
years now.
I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, and taught general music in my hometown
of Elmhurst, IL for three years. My husband and I then moved to Greenwood,
SC for
two years and I taught general music in two rural schools while he taught
music and conducted the band at Lander University. My husband and I moved
to Ann Arbor
in July 2002, and he is now a DMA student at the University of Michigan in
conducting. This is my third year teaching in Saline Area Schools.
I have studied piano and the clarinet, as well as the bass clarinet, saxophone,
and voice, and have begun graduate work in the Orff philosophy of teaching
music. On a more personal note, I consider myself an avid reader, and a big
fan of JRR
Tolkien and Harry Potter. I collect snowmen in the winter, and enjoy gardening
in the summer. I have been to Disney World several times
and can’t wait to go back; but more than anything I’d like to
visit England. And if I had a pet, it would be a cat.
